Before I begin my story, just two things: Firstly, ANG ASTIG NI GOD! He brought everything to dimensions we never expected.
Secondly, I'd like to honor everyone who served throughout this week and especially today, the YFCs and non-YFCs who participated in the GA, my fellow execom members, and my ates and kuyas for coming together for the 4 F's: friendship, freedom, fun, and faith.
So after the incredible and exhausting recruitment week, the day arrived for the GA. Call time was at noon for the execom. Well, I was around as early as 10:30 for schoolwork. After a huge lunch, I hung out at the tambayan waiting for a worship/meeting to begin. Then Kuya Niki sent me on an errand for GK. I got back in time to go over things for the GA with Kuya Tino, Mira, Ate Oche, and Dan. After slipping out with Pao, Dan, Kat D, and Issa for some ice cream, we headed for SJ 106.
2:30---people starting to trickle in. Not sure whether to begin, but waited a bit.
At around 2:45, we had to get more chairs. We began our teaching of songs and the icebreakers at around 3. By this time, the room was pretty full. Kudos to Dan and Pao for keeping the pace going and for being great emcees. Barkadahan game was hilarious (and yes, I know that my hair isn't layered--it's buhaghag!) Surprise today: Kuya Marco showed up. So did Nelly. Wish my other friends had been there though.
Dave led the worship today. Wow. That's all I can say. I love the song "Faithful". And seeing everyone singing along to "The Time Has Come" and "Adonai".
Kuya Wilmond's talk about YFC DLSU and its legacy was amusing, and of course inspiring. And I could relate to Ate Tuesday's sharing.
After the talk, we had another game (Bahay Baboy Bagyo) before watching two AVPs. I liked the one Mira created. After closing prayer, we went off to the tambayan for a late merienda and bonding. Talked to a LOT of people and generally hung out before having to go home because of impending traffic.
God was more than amazing today. I'm kind of lost for words.
it is really overwhelming! this is just the start :)
